When Carrying out a loft conversion you will normally have to cut into the Party Wall to make pockets to insert a Padstone or Bearing plates to rest the steel beams on. If this is the case you will need to serve a Party Wall Notice (sometimes referred to a Party Structure Notice).
- A Section 2.2(f) for cutting into the wall to make the pockets.
- Also most likely needed is Section 2.2(n) for exposing of the party wall while the roof is off.
- And if you intend to raise the Party Wall for the side of the Dormer cheek Section 2.2(a).
- If a flashing is needed to weatherproof this can be included under 2.2(f).
